Getting started

How does 21 Lockout work?

You choose which apps to lock. When you open one, you get a shield instead of the app — and a hand of blackjack. Beat the dealer and you earn an unlock window. Lose and the lockout runs longer.

Why does it ask for Screen Time permission?

Blocking apps on iOS is only possible through Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls framework, which requires your explicit permission. Without it the app cannot shield anything. We never see which apps you pick — that stays inside Apple's framework.

I picked my apps but nothing is blocked.

Check that Screen Time permission is still granted in iOS Settings › Screen Time, and that you are not currently inside an unlock window. Reopening 21 Lockout refreshes the lock state.

Locks and unlocks

How do I get out if I really need an app right now?

Press and hold the 21 Lockout icon on your home screen and choose Emergency Unlock. That gives you 15 minutes, up to 3 times a day, without playing a hand.

My apps re-locked before I expected.

An unlock window is a fixed length of time set by your stakes. When it expires the shield comes back automatically. You can change how many minutes a win is worth in Settings.

How do I stop using 21 Lockout entirely?

Deleting the app removes all shields and all locally stored data. You can also revoke Screen Time permission in iOS Settings at any time.

Subscription and billing

How do I cancel?

Open iOS Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then 21 Lockout. Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid the next charge. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

I already paid but the app says I haven't.

Open Settings inside 21 Lockout and tap Restore Purchases, making sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you purchased with. If that does not work, email us and we will sort it out.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We are not able to issue them on Apple's behalf, but tell us what went wrong and we will try to fix it.
