Who we are
Ice Block is an iOS focus timer developed by an independent developer. Questions about this policy can be sent to admin@stella-lane-associates.com.
Data stored on your device
Ice Block stores the following information locally on your device using iOS standard storage (UserDefaults). This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to the developer.
- Focus session records — session duration, start time, and any journal notes you add after a session.
- Onboarding answers — your responses to the initial setup questions (e.g. what distracts you, when you prefer to study). These shape your default focus plan and are not shared.
- App preferences — settings such as timer duration, companion preferences, and whether onboarding has been completed.
You can delete all locally stored data at any time by deleting the Ice Block app from your device.
Screen Time and app blocking
Ice Block uses Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls framework to block apps and websites during focus sessions. The app presents Apple's standard system picker for you to choose which apps or categories to block. Ice Block does not receive, store, or transmit the names of the apps or websites you select — that information remains within Apple's secure on-device framework.
You can revoke Screen Time permissions for Ice Block at any time from iOS Settings.
Subscriptions (Ice Block Plus)
Ice Block Plus is available as an auto-renewing subscription managed by Apple through the App Store. The developer does not process or store payment information.
Ice Block uses RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management service, to verify and manage subscription entitlements. RevenueCat may collect an anonymous device identifier and purchase receipt data solely to confirm whether an active subscription exists. No name, email address, or other personal information is associated with this data. You can review RevenueCat's privacy practices at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Subscriptions can be managed or cancelled at any time from iOS Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions, or from within the App Store.
No accounts, no tracking
Ice Block does not require or offer user accounts. The app does not use advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking. No data about your behavior within the app is shared with third parties for advertising or profiling purposes.
Apple's data collection
As with all apps distributed through the App Store, Apple may collect certain diagnostic and usage information according to your device settings and Apple's own privacy policy. This data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Children's privacy
Ice Block is not directed at children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because Ice Block collects no personal information from any user, no special handling is required. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will address it promptly.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
