How to Block Instagram on iPhone

Instagram is engineered to keep you scrolling — especially Reels. Here's how to block it on iPhone in under a minute, and how to make the block hold instead of caving five minutes later.

The quick way: Screen Time limit

1. Open Settings → Screen Time → App Limits → Add Limit.
2. Search for Instagram, select it, set a short daily allowance, and tap Add.
3. Instagram greys out once the limit is reached.

This is fine for a soft nudge — but the "Ignore Limit" button means a determined moment beats it. For Reels specifically, that's usually not enough.

The way that holds: a focus session

1. Install Ice Block and grant Screen Time / Family Controls access.
2. Add Instagram to your block list.
